Lindley Estes is a writer, reporter and editor. She is a recent graduate of George Mason University’s MFA program in fiction writing. She is also a longtime journalist, having worked as the Fredericksburg Business Insider Editor and a reporter for the Free Lance-Star, Fredericksburg, Va.’s daily newspaper. She has written for newspapers about business and higher education, local government and art. And health and history. And a little of everything else. Her creative writing has appeared in journals including Whurk, Wig-Wag, the RS-500 and Seven Stamps Review.

She previously served as the editor-in-chief for The Bullet, the University of Mary Washington’s campus newspaper, and The Aubade, the school’s literary journal. She was fiction editor of Phoebe, the literary journal of George Mason University, and a blog editor and publicist for Stillhouse Press. She has also edited for Whurk magazine and has copyedited for publishers and magazines. At the moment, she is the managing editor for a collection through Stillhouse Press and is freelancing writing and editing.

Lindley lives in Fredericksburg with her cat Pompey, dog Mr. Bojangles, husband Matt and her one true love: a Hermes 3000 cursive typewriter.
